The focus at Z Planning Group is comprehensive long term care planning and elder care advocacy. We take an in depth look into the clients particular situation with respect to finances, health, estate issues/desires, family history, family geographical challenges, history of long term care needs, history of prevalent conditions within the family and so much more. Z Planning Group is focused on problem solving rather than solutions….Sounds backwards doesn’t it? However, if we recognize and understand that a problem even exists, at that time we can then determine the proper solution. The proper solution is the one that works for you and your family, assuming there is a problem to begin with. It’s about planning and ensuring a funding mechanism for the plan.

The firm is lead by Mr. Jay E. Zandell, CLTC, a recognized expert in long term care planning. Mr. Zandell is an honorably discharged Marine, graduated from the University of Kansas, and is the proud father of two incredible children. He established the firm to separate and distinguish the differences between product marketing organizations and those committed to helping individuals, families, and businesses in addressing the inevitable situation of long term care in a respectful and professional manner.

Mr. Zandell has been published on numerous occasions, heard on, as well as guest-hosted Talking Dollars & Making Sense (1100 kfnx). Most recently Mr. Zandell was interviewed by Channel 15 (local ABC Affiliate) as a who’s who when it comes to long term care planning.

In addition, through our professional relationships we offer senior advocacy services including finances, healthcare and conflict resolution. We recognize that in any stressful situation communication is key! To avoid family chaos, it is important that families talk and learn about the different options that are available when a medical crisis involves a senior family member. Emotions can run high when adult children are called upon to make decisions that they may be unprepared to make. Trying to learn new terms and to understand the ramification of the decisions they are about to make can lead to high levels of stress. We can assist with providing mediation services to help families talk through the issues and arrive at a mutually agreeable decision regarding the health and well-being of their loved one.

We can help you with:

  • Medicare and Medicaid questions
  • Communication with family members
  • Communicating with the medical team
  • Identifying and accessing community resources
  • Dealing with conflict
  • Advance Directives * Power of Attorney * Money Management
  • Health Care Financing - Public & Private Insurance
  • Elder Abuse and neglect
  • End-of-Life Issues
