Founded by Ken & Laura O'Dea, it is a locally owned and operated company that is focused on providing a personalized and compassionate service for seniors and their families. We are part of a national franchise that has been in business for over 20 years, Assisted Living Locators based in Scottsdale, Arizona. Through our affiliation we have tremendous resources and a knowledge base of experience to help families navigate the wide array of choices in senior housing and eldercare.
We are passionate about working with seniors and their families to help them find the perfect community for their loved ones. We complete a detailed assessment of each client and provide a thorough analysis and hands-on assistance to guide them through the process. By connecting with clients personally, we gain an intimate perspective of our clients' unique needs, preferences and circumstances in order to locate the best "home" for your loved one. We know this can be a difficult transition and we will be there as your advocate and support throughout the process.

Laura: After spending 25+ years in the Financial Services industry working with advisors and their clients to help them plan for a strong financial future, her love of working with people and desire to build a business of her own, moved her to embark with her husband, Ken, to open Assisted Living Locators. Bringing together years of experience focused on helping people protect against the things in life that can cause major issues, positions her perfectly to work with families and individuals that are facing life challenges as they age. "Working with seniors and their families is so gratifying and the interesting life stories you get to hear are inspiring."
Professional designations include Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and is currently attending Queens University to complete her Certified Financial Planning (CFP) designation. She is also earning a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) designation as part of her desire to work with seniors and their families and understand the unique challenges seniors face. She is a member of professional organizations that include, Financial Planning Association, Society of Financial Service Professionals, National Association of Women Business Owners, Area Network on Aging (ARN) and Charlotte Mecklenburg Aging Council (CMAC). Additionally she works with local groups that recognize and support social workers and other health care professionals that serve seniors in counties in Mecklenburg, Union and Cabarrus in North Carolina and Cherokee, Lancaster and York in South Carolina.
Ken: Has spent many years working in the financial services/insurance industry where he helped clients plan for financial security for their families and businesses, utilizing life insurance and long term care products to help them transition into the next phase of life. Many of his clients began to reach a point in life where they were retiring and looking to move to a more carefree lifestyle or they were assisting parents who had experienced issues and needed additional care.
With Assisted Living Locators, he saw an opportunity to help his clients and other families facing similar situations, navigate the confusing array of choices there are in the senior market. Having spent his career working in a very personalized way with clients, he enjoys the opportunity to see the plans that were put in place work for individuals and families when the time comes for them transition to their next phase of life. He is currently earning a Certified Senior Advisor designation to add to his knowledge and ability to help serve seniors.
Ken volunteers with the local Meals on Wheels organization, Friendship Trays, to deliver meals to seniors in the Mecklenburg county area and helps with fund raising for that organization. He is a member of senior networking organizations that include Area Network on Aging (ARN) and Charlotte Mecklenburg Aging Council (CMAC).
