Thank you for taking a moment to link up to the National Care Planning Council website . The agents who have been invited onto this website are here because they specialize in long term care insurance and asset protection. I’m licensed and appointed in Washington and Oregon. My agency is Capstone Financial Assurance. We work with credit unions, alumni associations and professional groups. For example, I’ve recently begun helping members of the credit union which services the employees of our area’s largest software companies. I’ve earned the 'Certified in Long Term Care' (CLTC) professional designation, and, like most dedicated agents, I speak to informal gatherings, and offer group/employer seminars. I make sure to budget time for LTC training seminars, conferences and workshops. And if you need help with related financial issues, my team of specialists includes a financial planner, a reverse mortgage advisor, a senior market realtor and a CPA.

I decided to make this my life’s work 7 years ago when my mom began needing daily help with the basics, getting out of bed, the bathtub, as well as personal care needs. That’s what this coverage pays for. Most people contact us because they’re going through this with a loved one, usually a parent. They’re like me, suddenly put into the position of making major care decisions for mom because she’s had a stroke and can’t care for herself anymore. So, when the crisis settles down, they begin making calls to home care and assisted living facilities and ‘boom!’, they find out that mom’s care will cost $4K to $7K...per month. “But who’s going to pay for this”?....“we live in LA, mom lives in Seattle and besides, we both work and have kids to care for already!”...”doesn’t our government pay for this”?, (only after mom spends all assets including her house!). Once her estate is spent, Medicaid will take over and put mom into the nearest shared room nursing home. Everyone involved can only watch, feel anxious, angry and guilty as their parents life savings is wiped out. Believe me- it happens all the time.

Our family was fortunate. My mom had a policy that paid for her care. It covered the expense of a nice apartment, good care, independence and dignity. It sounds corny but these words will become very important to us later on. And the odds are 50/50 that WE’LL be needing long term care- averaging 2 to 4 years. If I’m laid up due to a car accident or a stroke, or my wife is...or if YOU or YOURS someday needs care, SOMEONE will be paying the bills. I’ve helped hundreds of families find the right coverage that will pay those bills- and it would be my privilege to do the same for you. By now it may have occurred to you that we get this coverage for our loved ones first and for ourselves second.

If you’re willing to spend a few minutes on the phone with me and allow me to ask you a few general health questions, in return I should be able to give you a good ball park idea of what you’d be looking at cost-wise for decent coverage with a highly rated, solid company. I will make sure that you have the information you need to decide whether you need LTCI, and, if so, what coverage to get and how much to spend. If you have a policy and have questions about cost and coverage, or you’re concerned about insurability because of your health, or even if you’ve been turned down, I may have a solution. It can’t hurt to talk.

All the best,
