I am one of Utah's leading attorneys in Elder Law and Medicaid Planning. As a shareholder and chair of the Tax and Estate Planning Section at Van Cott Bagley, one of Utah's oldest and most prestigious law firms, I have offices in both Salt Lake City and Ogden. I speak frequently to public groups and to other lawyers on elder law issues, including estate planning (both wills and trusts), Medicaid planning, end of life issues and powers of attorney.
I graduated from the University of Utah College of Law in 1987, and began my career with the Tax Division of the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. I also have an advanced degree in tax law from Georgetown University. As a Utah member of the Special Needs Alliance, a nationwide network of attorneys, I also specialize in special needs trusts. I am also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
I have actively been involved in elder law since 1993, and became one of the first lawyers in Utah to specialize extensively in this field. I assist concerned family members, their parents and their children with estate planning (both wills and trusts, including special needs trusts), Medicaid planning and eligibility, powers of attorney and life care planning.
The National Care Planning Council is dedicated to helping families recognize the need for long term care planning and to helping implement that planning.
Integrity, honesty, and a genuine concern for those who are in need of (or may need) long term care are at the heart of our services.
