A Helping Hand for Mom, LLC
Welcome to my on-line office. My name is Heidi Steenrod and I am a nurse entrepreneur, care navigator, and elder care consultant. In my personal life, I am a family caregiver. I have family members across the United States, so I have mastered long-distance caregiving which is why I choose to specialize in care management, care navigation, and transitional care for the elderly.
It all started when a very dear elderly aunt needed assistance navigating the complex world of healthcare as she struggled with her cancer diagnosis and needed someone to guide her through the rough terrain of understanding medical jargon at physician appointments, interpreting medical bills, choosing the right hospice and a reliable, dependable homecare agency, managing her many appointments, medications, and more. So, out of the need to care for my dear auntie and realizing many others are in similar circumstances and a need a helping hand, A Helping Hand for Mom was born.
For the general public, I offer A Helping Hand for Mom: Assisted Living at Home, a 24-hour in-home care service offering supportive living, personal care, and wellness to retired executives in the comfort of their homes.
For exclusive skilled nursing, care management, and care navigation, I provide services to families needing a professional to navigate the health care continuum or facilities needing nursing delegation services.
I understand eldercare on the personal side, the family side, and the business side.
I work with long-distance family caregivers caring for their loved ones who are retired executives as well as families in the sandwich generation. I help families who do not want the stress of family caregiving but WANT to see their loved one thrive in the place they know by heart....their home, on their own terms regardless of their medical diagnosis.
My clients include adult professionals seeking help for their aging loved ones, long-distance family caregivers needing help to navigate the elder care and retirement living industry, assisted living facilities who need navigators to help their residents to stay in the facility longer, attorneys and guardians seeking help for their clients.
Here is why I enjoy such a fine reputation I am a daughter, a mom, a nurse, a fellow parishioner, and a council member of the Elder Care Planning Council of Ohio. My personal and core values are popularly known as i.C.A.R.E.
